How Much Revenue Can You Make by Placing Adverts on Your Website?

How Much Revenue Can You Make by Placing Adverts on Your Website?

One thing that is often difficult to gauge is how much traffic you need before you can start to make some money out of your site from adverts. Of course, if you allow Google to place Adsense units (adverts) on your site you can, at least in theory, start earning money from day one. The reality though, is that you need to get some serious traffic before this type of advertising will reap any real financial rewards.

For example, as a rule of thumb, you can reckon on one ad unit being clicked for every 50-100 visitors to your site. So, by applying very simple math, if you get 1000 visitors per day, you'll probably get between 10 and 20 click throughs (a click through is when someone clicks an ad unit) per day.

Now, if you also bear in mind that you might make as little as 1 cent per click through, you might get as little as 10 to 20 cents from your 1000 visitors. In reality, you'd be very unlucky to get 20 click throughs at 1 cent per click; you're much more likely to get quite a wide range, with some clicks generating maybe a few dollars and others generating a few cents. If every click through generated £1, then your 1000 visitors would bring in between $10 and £20 dollars per day, which is a lot better than 20 cents.

Even so, £20 a day is not going to make you rich! Don't get me wrong though - I think Google Adsense is a great thing - it's easy to set up, it's free to use, and it does bring in some revenue.

Other Advertising Revenue

Once your site starts getting about 500 visitors per day, you can start to look at other advertising revenue streams instead of, or more likely in addition to, using Google Adsense.

You might find that companies start to contact you directly, wanting to place adverts for their companies or products on your site. I know from my own experience that even if you are only getting 300 or so visitors per day, this might be enough to generate some interest from potential advertisers.

But how much money can you expect to earn? Well, for a site receiving 500 visitors per day, you could expect to get $50-100 per month for a 4cm x 2cm (button) advert placed on one of your site's better performing pages, that's to say a page that probably has a Page Rank (PR) of at least 5. This might not sound like very much money, but if you have 20 or 30 pages that have a good PR, and you can place three or four adverts on each page, your advertising revenue will soon start to mount up.

Naturally, as the amount of traffic your site gets goes up, the more you can charge for placing adverts on your site. If you can get up to about 5000 visitors per day, you could easily be looking at charging updward of $1000 per month for button adverts or banners, and then you're talking serious money!

AdSense - Size Matters and Less is Usually Best

AdSense - Size Matters and Less is Usually Best

Are you fed up trying to get traffic to your web pages in the hope someone will click on your AdSense promotions and generate big commissions for you? Do you sometimes feel like giving in? If so, worry not, because I know how to double your commission in one easy move.

I've always been a great devotee of writing articles and allocating a special web page to each article, with AdSense blocks placed strategically across the page.

Then I spotted something strange happening to my AdSense earnings each day. Unusually, article pages I had created just weeks earlier were earning double the income of those I'd created months and even years before, despite there being very little in articles themselves to justify the difference. All my articles are about making money from various business opportunities, and all are on the same site, about the same size, and none of those articles feature keywords and phrases I'd expect to earn more than other articles.

I studied the pages concerned over several weeks, I even printed out the best performing pages and compared them regularly against those that made little or nothing from AdSense.

Then one day the answer came to me out of the blue when I realised the best performing pages had just one AdSense block at the top of the page, just below the title and first paragraph of the article. All my earlier articles had two or three blocks and sometimes additional picture ads. I hadn't intentionally placed just one AdSense block on those best performing pages; I had inadvertently missed them from the web page template I am currently using.

I began looking at the reasons why having just one AdSense block on the page far outweighed the financial benefits of having several. I checked expert AdSense blogs, read expert articles, researched expert books about AdSense and finally I even asked Google themselves.

The answer is, I believe, that Google always delivers best paying advertisements highest on content sites, with lower paying promotions featuring further down the page. So clicks on the first AdSense unit generally earn more than subsequent units and that's why it's best to have just one unit.

Simple really when you think about it.

Don't Settle For Cents With AdSense - 8 Things You Need to Know For Success With AdSense Websites

Don't Settle For Cents With AdSense - 8 Things You Need to Know For Success With AdSense Websites

Now that I've got your attention I know you're wondering why anyone would want to go into an internet business that's only going to make you "cents". The fact is that lots of people all over the internet are building massive fortunes with the virtual AdSense empires. It's not unheard of to build a six or seven figure income in a relatively short period of time if you follow these "dos" and "Don'ts" of how to use AdSense.

People that tell you AdSense is dead or AdSense doesn't work are just not building their empires the right way and understanding how to make AdSense work.

Here's my list of my top "Dos" and "Don'ts" for generating revenue with your AdSense websites:

1. Don't put AdSense on your primary income generating pages (ie: sales pages, landing pages, etc.). If the intent of the page is to make income from your own product or an affiliate product, you do not want to have AdSense on the page. Why set yourself and your page up to earn just a few cents from a click of an AdSense ad when you could be making much much more money by selling your own/affiliate products from that page. AdSense ads on income generating pages are distracting to the visitors and may result in you losing your visitor and your sale altogether. Once an AdSense ad is clicked on they are taken off of your page you've potentially lost a sale. Sure, you'll get those few cents or dollars for the AdSense click, but is it worth it to risk losing the bigger sale? You need to understand that clicks on AdSense ads take visitors away from the page they are on.

2. Don't stick up a simple one page website with tons of Google AdSense on it and expect to make money from that page. The more pages you have on your website and the more good and relevant content you provide to your visitors, the more page views from that visitor and the greater the potential they will click on an AdSense ad and you earn money from that visitor. Additionally more pages and more contents means more relevant AdSense ads which increases your Click Through Rates. It is very difficult to get a single page website indexed and optimized for any of the search engines so the more pages you have the better your chances of getting ranked by the major search engines.

3. Don't ever ever click on your own website AdSense ads, or for that matter encourage your friends or associates to click them on for you. This is a total violation of Google AdSense and your account will be ripped away immediately if Google determines there is suspicious click throughs on your websites. Once Google cancels your AdSense account it takes an act of God to get it back, so RESIST all temptation to click on any of your own AdSense ads.

4. Do update your websites and keep them fresh with new content. Google loves it when you add new content to your websites. You might even want to consider adding a blog and a forum to your AdSense websites. Blogs and forums are great sources of new updated content. If you add a blog make sure you add it right to your websites, ie: mydomain.com/blog

5. Do take all of the articles you write for your website content and submit them to the article directories. My favorite article directories are EzineArticles.com, Goarticles.com, Articlecity.com, Ideamarketers.com and now the newest one Affsphere.com. Once your articles are approved by the article sites you'll start to see results in the search engines. In addition other website owners and bloggers that pick up your articles to add to their sites will provide backlinks to your AdSense Niche Sites from the links you provide in your "resource box" and the more backlinks you receive the higher your site will rank in the search engines. Do write lots and lots of articles and keep submitting them on a regular basis. These same articles can be added to your website as new content and visa versa so you only have to write the content once and use it twice.

6. Do Blog about your AdSense websites. The 200 Instant AdSense Niche Templates I'm offering have matching Wordpress Templates. If you use the AdSense template to build a niche in "Afghans" for example, then you'll also have a matching "Afghan" Wordpress Template. Blogging is a great way to improve your search engine rankings and get additional backlinks to your AdSense websites. In addition by adding the blog as a page of your original AdSense website you will be continuously adding new content.

7. Do build your AdSense websites with the primary intent to provide good content and earn revenues with AdSense. If you spend the time developing an informative website and drive free traffic to it you will make money with AdSense. Some niches will make more money than others...but your cost to develop these AdSense sites is your time so every "Cent" you earn is just pure profit beyond the cost of your time.

8. Do build an empire of AdSense sites. You can build your own virtual empire of 200 niche websites with the templates I'm offering. The more sites you build, the more AdSense revenue you will earn. If you build 10 sites that earn you $30 per month then that's an extra $300 per month of auto-pilot income. If those same sites are making $50 per month then that's $500, and so on and so on. You do the math. You're not going to make a fortune from one single AdSense websites, but realize the power of building lots of AdSense websites and multiplying your income with each site you build. The more you build and optimize the more you earn. The object is to build...optimize...rinse...and repeat....over and over again. The more you build niche sites with AdSense then obviously the more AdSense revenue you will earn...and this is revenue that will continue month after month after month. There's virtually no end!

If you're considering adding AdSense as an additional source of revenue to your internet business then you should consider getting your hands on these 200 AdSense Templates that have been professionally optimized for AdSense and the search engines. Learn How to Make Money With Google AdSense

Learn How to Make Money With Google AdSense

Google AdSense is about placing text ads on your web site. The beauty of AdSense is that after you paste the code on your site, Google then reads your content and place ads that are relevant to the content and theme of your site. This is important because you now have a much greater chance of an ad being clicked because it is about the subject that the user is searching for. You get paid every time someone clicks on one of those ads. That is it. No selling required. Once they click, you get paid.

Anyone can be an AdSense publisher and earn money online. High school kids are earning thousands each month. Housewives, retirees, moms and dads have created full time income by just placing AdSense ads on their website or blog.

If you thought that you could not be one of these people, then you are wrong. You just need to know how to get started. Well here is a list of things that you can do to get started with Google AdSense.

1. Find a niche that you enjoy and have knowledge about. You will be writing articles so having knowledge about the subject will save you time doing research about your niche.

2. Keyword Research - This is very important because the higher in demand the keywords are, the more money you will make per click. Your keyword research will also give you ideas for topics for your articles. You also want to target keywords that are not high in competition. By targeting the lower competition keywords you can get higher search engine rankings more quickly.

3. Write original quality content articles - Using the keywords from your research, write an article that is about 500 words long. By writing your own articles you will avoid being penalized for duplicate content.

4. Design your website - I would suggest that you find a good AdSense template package that has all the design and placement of your ads all ready done for you. All you have to do is add your Google AdSense id number and add your content. Also look for templates that have good graphics, especially the header graphic. A good package will also allow you to edit the pictures as well.

5. Register a domain name. You can register domain names for less than 10.00.

6. Get a web hosting account - Find a reliable web host company.

7. Sign up for a Google AdSense account - This will only take you a few minutes.

8. Upload your files and start generating traffic to your site.

Google AdSense is a win-win situation. A visitor to your site gets the information they are looking for and you as the publisher earn money. So get started right away and start earning your share of the pie with Google AdSense.

The Easiest Way to Make Money Online - Google AdSense

The Easiest Way to Make Money Online - Google AdSense

Dominating forums, discussions and newsletters, Google Adsense, and tales of how participants have made millions of dollars just by working from home, is all that anyone's been able to talk about for the past few months. Considered one of the easiest ways to make a profit on the Internet, Google Adsense has been dominating the Internet marketing business since its arrival.

It's placing advertisements on web pages that receive high traffic for in demand keywords that makes up Adsense's success. The number of clicks you receive from your site depends on the cost-per-click to the advertiser and the higher the cost, the more clicks you receive. For this reason, placing low cost-per-click keywords on pages that don't receive many hits is not a smart way to profit.

As millions of Internet users click on the web each day, it's not a shock that a program like Google Adsense would be incredibly successful.

Realizing that their homepage lies underneath tiny ads promoting the services of others could be a blow to the pride of those who are new to this market. However, their doubts and fears are immediately laid to rest once they understand that those tiny ads can earn them even more money.

Successful webmasters and publishers alike are combining two major factors in order to make money easier and faster through Google Adsense:

1) Locate the highest traffic pages on your website by reviewing your logs. You'll be able to see the number of visitors who take advantage of all the free affiliate marketing resources and e-books being offered on your website. Basically, you'll make more money if your advertisements are working correctly and being clicked on a lot.

2) It may sound backward, but place Adsense links on web pages that produce little or no profit. It's tricky, but this will reduce the number of potential customers lost to other websites promoted on your page.

Combined, these two factors can work together quite effectively and are a great way to produce the least amount of revenue from high traffic pages. This strategy is often used by those who want to make a few extra bucks through Adsense. Information websites, whose focus is on delivering affiliate link free content to their visitors, are particularly fond of this strategy since they're able to gain a profit for their services.

It's not shocking that Google works hard to update Adsense when possible to maintain a satisfactory image since so many people are using the program and making money with it.

It's not impossible that a second tier could be added to Adsense. There's no doubt that improvements will constantly be made because of all the people spending time in the program and getting in to this kind of marketing. Webmasters and publishers throughout the world would no doubt be incredibly happy if they ever learned they would be able to sign up for sub-affiliates and increase their earnings ten fold.

One of the latest features of Adsense is a tool that allows up to 200 urls to be filtered, giving webmasters the option to block low offers and competitors from the pages. What a great way to take advantage of some offers while discarding ones that seem pointless.

The possibilities are endless with the Google Adsense marketing program. However, there are some things that threaten the program. Someone could take advantage of the easy money making process of Internet marketing, causing Google to break down, killing Adsense in the process. Making money online would surely not be as simple since people would have to revert to the old Internet marketing techniques is this were to happen.

But while there are still people who thrive on profiting from using their talents to make money online, Google Adsense will remain popular. After all, aside from the strict rules and regulations Google enforces over Adsense, it could take quite some time for Adsense privileges to be taken away.

Google AdSense - Autopilot Money From a Website Or Free Blog

Google AdSense - Autopilot Money From a Website Or Free Blog

You can make money with Google AdSense. Google AdSense is an amazing contextual advertising program that lets you earn revenue from your site by a variety of revenue generating programs without any selling on your part. You just need a website or free blog and Google does the rest.

Google uses pay per click ads, AdSense for search, referrals for Firefox with Google toolbar, Picassa, Google Pack and the AdSense program itself to generate revenue for you and, of course, for Google.

There is definitely good money that can be made if you follow all the rules exactly that are given in the AdSense policies. Play by their rules and you will make money.

What you should NOT do:

1. Never change the Google AdSense HTML code. If this is a mystery to you, good. It's not something you want to learn.

2. Don't ask your friends and your relatives to click on your Google ads and never hint to your visitors to click on the ads either. This is fraud and they will come after you.

3. Never label the Google ads with text that says anything other than "sponsored links" or "advertisements." You know who will get you, right?

4. Never click on the ads that are on your page. Google has prepared for this, and they will know. This is fraud and they will come after you.

5. Never put a Google ad block in a pop-up window or in error pages. Not even on empty pages. You don't want to put something on a page just to try to make money on an accidental click. Again, this is fraud and will not work for long.

Here is what you SHOULD do:

Webmasters can make AdSense more successful by focusing on attracting more visitors to their sites. There are several ways to accomplish this. Improving content is critical, as visitors are more likely to view the site when it holds quality material. Market to the right people, and take every opportunity to give the website URL exposure.

Develop a mailing list, create a newsletter, offer a free item to encourage sign-ups, and publish a form on the website that allows visitors to request more information. This is all free advertising, which keeps viewers aware of the website and encourages new viewers to visit. The more of it that is done, the faster traffic will increase and the more clicks on Google ads you will get and the more money you will make.

Google pays you monthly when your earnings reach $100. This may take a while to accumulate because it takes a while to build traffic to your website or blog. The Google AdSense checks are a blessing to a large number of newbies with low budgets eager to make money from home. The possibility is there if you have a website with good content. Visitors will always come back.

Since AdSense is web based, you must have a website or blog to participate. This is not a problem. There are dozens of free websites and blogs you can get. Just do a web search. Once your website or blog is ready and the contents optimized, you can submit your application to Google. The AdSense program is not just for high page rank sites as some seem to think. Brand-new sites or blogs also qualify. Try the free Blogger.com. They are owned by Google and have AdSense built into their platform.

The Google AdSense program is a great way to earn an additional income for most webmasters and a big income for some who have made it the main source of revenue.
